As with all our feeders, we use our knowledge of comparative physiology and biochemistry to ensure your animals are getting the best of the best. That means no dog food staple which causes uric acid buildup and consequently gout in reptiles, nor do we use water crystals which are technically nontoxic in it's polymer form, but it is well documented that changes in pH and temperature makes polyacrylamide degrade into the neurotoxin acrylamide and it stands to reason that a roach's stomach alone poses a significant pH change. We did all the guesswork for you so you can simply feed these off. Still, we do recommend giving them a small piece of fruit right before feeding them off. We recommend mangoes!
