MTS from low traffic tanks(not a lot of new fish and plants coming in) which reduces risk of pest and disease. When I do bring fish in, I always use a quarantine tank and do a medication schedule. Livebearing snails that do not leave eggs all over the tank.
Single most beneficial snail for planted tanks in the hobby(yes more than nerites imo) MTS churns the substrate for you releasing detritus in small amounts for the filter to pick up and also aerate the substrate to prevent large pockets of toxic waste which kill a lot of fish. They burrow so during the day will not produce unsightly patches all over the wall and emerge at night. Probably the best maintenance snail in the hobby and hidden out of sight unlike pest snails. These do not really put a dent on algae however and eat mostly fish waste and leftover fish food, which is more important in keeping a healthy ecosystem anyways.
