Our specially formulated flake soil is shipped on the drier side after full fermentation. Simply add water and use! We sell by the gallon and absolutely pack the volume in, and since we do not ship by weight you can guarantee consistency in quality and amount batch by batch regardless of hydration level. It has been shown to work for both lucanidae as well as dynastidae since we utilize a biochemical process that accelerates lignin degradation to the point where both stag beetles that prefer fresher flake and dynastidae that prefer more fermented flake grow well on it. This is a unique twist for flake soil when classically you would need separate flake soils for different species, and we have raised large majors of different kinds of beetles with this flake
 
Indoor means it was produced inside the house, limiting the variety of possible hitchhikers.
Outdoor means it was produced outside, so potentially exposed
 
 
Remember when doing flake changes to ONLY change out the top 30-70% of flake and rehydrate before adding it in to prevent substrate shock.
 
Our flake is made from all organic ingredients and omnri listed products where applicable. Tested on our stock and fermented indoors to eliminate any chance of parasites or harmful hitchhikers. Shipping dry also decreases the amount of fungus gnats
 
We highly suggest drying the flake over freezing as freezing will kill more of the healthy microbiome.
